The Penthouse is an exception to the rule. It will receive a block of 42xx numbers. This is simple and to the point. I was considering also taking 43xx, but this will only apply to bedrooms, and that is just 5 numbers at most. All numbers will support eFaxing, and you would just a fsp.ph email address to send faxes by email. So how will the numbers be distributed? The list below will make sense once you see it:
- 4200: Simul-Ring Group
- 4201: Main Line
- 4202: Bedroom 2
- 4203: Bedroom 3
- 4204: Bedroom 4
- 4205: Bedroom 5
- 4206: Den
- 4207: Pool
- 4208: Guest Wing
4200 is the main line number. Calls to this number will actually ring multiple numbers. In this regard, it will ring the main line, Den, and Pool. This will assure that no matter where in the penthouse some is, they should be able to answer the phone unless they are in the bedroom. Since 4200 is just a simul-ring extension, and not an actual number, it will never show when making a call from any phone.
4201 is the main line. This will be the only line that is connected with the fsp-sip building wide wifi? network. This is the line you would want to take with you if you were to wait for a pizza for example. All other phones will work within the penthouse, and that is all.
4202-4205 is the foster children. I simply don’t need an extra number, and if I was to get a significant other, she will not need a phone in the bedroom. However, if I was to take in foster children, then they will likely need a phone line for themselves. This is therefore the reason why there is a bedroom line in the secondary bedrooms. Each phone will be a wifi phone, so they are not contained to just making calls in the bedroom as they would have been with a desk phone. Now that you see the importance for the secondary bedrooms to have their own line, we can move one to the next numbers.
4206 is likely not going to ever be needed, but it is a direct line for when someone needs to route a call to my Den line. Calls from the Den will rarely be needed, and I will likely have a desk phone that would require POE? for connectivity and power.
The Pool will have the same phone as the public foyers. This will be a simple wall mount phone with the key pad enlarged like an old pay phone which I get that some people reading this might not have ever seen a wall mounted payphone. You obviously don’t need change, and there will be no coin slot for the phone. This is instead to provide for a robust phone that would be able to handle getting splashed on. If there was a need to make a call from the pool such as emergency services, then this will be the phone to do so, especially if no one brought their phones with them.
The guest wing will be there just in case an overnight or a few night guest will need to make a local call. The guest will need to keep in mind that this will be a number they can use, but it will not go with them when they leave the guest wing.
